Aside from the very apparent gorgeousness of this space by designer Ashley Hicks, I love how he has incorporated so many pieces with special importance and meaning to him. The sofa at the far end of the room is covered in 'Tulip' by Allegra Hicks (Ashley's former wife) and the rug is also her design. The sofa pictured in the bottom right corner is trimmed in fabric from curtains by his late father, David Hicks. The portrait to the left of the fireplace is of King Edward the VII and was given to one of Hicks' ancestors by the monarch. Just below the portrait is a collection of art by Hicks' sister, Edwina Brudenell, and daughter, Angelica. Surrounding yourself with things that remind you of your loved ones is one of the best ways to make your house a home!
