magazine monday: elle

Flipping through the pages of Elle's September issue (it's may favorite time of year for fashion mags), I came across the living room of DJ Solange Knowles (little sis of Beyonce). Knowles' goal was to balance "great colors and patterns" with a "livable, warm, serene space." She achieved this by pairing funkier pieces such as a graphic rug, art fair finds and a chunky wood coffee table with classic neutrals such as a clean lined grey sofa and white walls. Knowles clearly knows how to mix more than just music!
